I scream for ice cream!

Ever thought that one of the most famous name brand ice cream would all come down to a gym class? History was made when Ben Cohen and Jerry Greenfield discovered two things they each had in common, they hated to run and loved food. Throughout middle and high school they remained friends. Jerry could not get into the medical school he applied for and dreamed of going to twice. Ben on the other hand had an unstable work history. After a failed attempt to promote a bagel business due to machinery and production cost, they decided with their last five dollars they had was used to take a ice cream making class. They decided to take a risk and open up a small business in a gas station. A few months later they closed down their shop because of bad book-keeping. By giving it another try, the business was fortunately successful. After a year of strong business they celebrated their first year by giving out free scoops to anyone who came into the shop that day, the tradition continues to this day. There was just nothing about Ben and Jerry’s that was not original. With over seventy five unique flavors of variety ideas such as nuts, fruits, brownies, etc. no repetition was made.

  1. Fascinating...and yummy! I think some pictures would be nice with this blog since you're trying to make history come alive. Also, I want to talk to you about the relevance of this blog. I want you to think about what you want your readers to *do* with this information.

    Good start.
